From Demo to First Bell: Our Summer Project Round-Up

With only a few months between school years, summer is a sprint in school construction. This year, 7er Construction completed six projects at educational spaces across the Omaha metro, managing tight timelines with care, coordination and craftsmanship.

The result? Refreshed, functional spaces ready for students and staff when the first bell rings this fall.

A Closer Look at Our Summer Projects

From elementary schools to higher education, each space came to with its own goals, timelines and challenges.  Our team met them head-on.

Harvey Oaks Elementary School

We completed a 35,000-square-foot interior renovation at Harvey Oaks Elementary, transforming classrooms, restrooms, common areas and the gym. Each upgrade was designed to support a modern, safe learning environment.

Westside High School Restroom Renovation

Part of a multi-year renovation at Westside’s West Campus, this summer’s phase focused on updating restrooms with new systems, fixtures and finishes. Each phase is carefully scheduled to align with the school calendar.

Underwood Hills Early Learning Center

This renovation includes a new vestibule addition and interior updates to improve both function and first impressions at Underwood Hills Early Learning Center. Outside, we are doing new paint, windows and sidewalks. Inside, we are updating the secretary area with a custom desk, paint and finishes.

The completion of this project is on track for September!

OPS Lewis and Clark ACP Suite

We’re currently modernizing Omaha Public School’s Lewis and Clark Middle School. We’re adding new flooring, upgrading restroom finishes, kitchen plumbing and more. It is on track for completion in September.

UNO Gait Lab

We just kicked off a fast-track renovation of a specialized gait analysis lab at the University of Nebraska Omaha. The project includes sensor installation, new flooring and updates to the overhead track system, all while protecting sensitive force plates essential for biomechanics research.

Westside High School West Campus AHU Replacement

This summer marked the first phase of an air handling unit replacement at Westside Community School’s West Campus, aimed at improving airflow and comfort throughout the building. Work included demolition, new piping and ductwork and VAV installation. The final system checks were just completed, with future phases planned to continue the upgrade with additional AHUs.

Bringing these projects to life over the summer took more than just hard work. It took trust, teamwork and a shared commitment to creating spaces where students, staff and visitors can thrive. From elementary classrooms to university labs, we’re proud to support the environments that shape learning every day.

We’re grateful to the school districts, design teams and trade partners who made this work possible, and to the 7er Construction craftsmen who showed up with hustle and care all summer long!
